November 30, 2008

I teased this over at Troy Nunes is an Absolute Magician, but I thought I’d put together a ten second trailer for the project:

Your lives now have meaning, even if you still have no idea what the project entails.

Letters From the Dead: December 2008

November 30, 2008

Dr. John A.R. Scott was Syracuse University’s first official head basketball coach, serving the school in that capacity from 1903 until 1911.  During his eight-year tenure, he compiled a 64-54 record, maintaining winning seasons in five of his eight campaigns.

Along with his responsibilities of being a full-time corpse, Scott will contribute to this magazine on a part-time basis, providing his commentary on the state of Syracuse athletics as well as the Big East Conference.

If you’re looking for a job, Greg, why not check into a position at George Mason University?  It seems to have openings for program-crippling coaches.

Esherick Voodoo: Maryland

November 29, 2008

Five and one-half seasons at the helm of Georgetown basketball yielded Craig Esherick the following resume: 103-74 overall record, one N.C.A.A. bid, three N.I.T. bids, and two seasons of sitting at home in March, buying old-person furniture and taking naps.

He is Georgetown poison, and for that, a great human in the Syracuse universe.  What better way to put a hex on the Hoyas than summoning a little Esherick voodoo for Georgetown’s game tomorrow against the Terrapins of Maryland?
