Have you ever wondered how John Thompson III managed to convince innocent young adults to enroll at a university that overtly sponsors viral pandemics?
Well, your questions are now answered. I’ve managed to acquire the official Georgetown basketball recruiting video and it is, for all intents and purposes, validation for why DaShonte Riley chose to sign with Syracuse University rather than “That School from Down South.”
Masthead Voting
As is plainly evident, we have a winner in the masthead competition. Alex O., proprietor of Superman Wears Rob Long Underoos, collected 37 percent of the vote and his submission now adorns this notebook. Congratulations.
In Other News
While I have gone through extensive composition droughts in the past, there is actually a good reason for this most recent absence: I’m writing a book.
I’ve been kicking around two book ideas for about 16 months now, and I think it’s finally time to sit down and put ink to paper. Hoya Suxa has been merely a first draft for me to determine whether the ideas have enough strength to comprise a full collection of essays; as the last 12 months have illustrated, I think it’s a pretty good possibility. Currently, I have skeleton drafts put together for each idea, but I am now at the point that I need to flesh each out to determine where I’m going to focus my efforts.
As a result, things are going to be pretty dark around here until August. From time-to-time I’ll check in with some glorious prose, but for the most part, I’m going to be concentrating on alternative composition. If a three-month hiatus is too long for you to go without The Glaude, you can always follow me on Twitter.
